A Talk with Alena Shish, Founder of OrangeBridge Consulting
傍晚的新洲村，锅铲声、粤语、带着乡音的普通话和零散的英语挤在同一条巷子里。许丽娜端着一碗糖水，和一桌刚认识不久的人聊得起劲。
At dusk in Xinzhou Village, the clatter of cooking utensils, Cantonese, Mandarin tinged with regional accents, and snatches of English all squeeze into the same alley. Alena Shish holds a bowl of Cantonese sweet soup, chatting animatedly with a table of people she’s only just met.
对多数人来说，这是福田没那么国际范的场景，却是她留在这里的理由。
To most people, this is not a particularly international scene in Futian—yet it is exactly why she stays here.
从2014年第一次踏进福田，到2021年在此定居，2024年，她把公司也开在了这里，取名“橙桥”。
She first set foot in Futian in 2014, settled down here in 2021, and in 2024 opened her company here as well, naming it “OrangeBridge”.
一个从小就开始“造桥”的人
A “Bridge-Builder” Since Childhood
橙桥，OrangeBridge。既是直译，也是成为桥梁。
Chengqiao - OrangeBridge. It is both a literal translation and a mission to become a bridge.
这个名字藏着一段比创业本身更长的故事。
Behind this name lies a story longer than the startup journey itself.
两岁时，许丽娜随着家人从乌克兰移民到美国。在那个讲俄语的家里，她是最早掌握英语的人，很小就帮着父母翻译。“就像一座桥梁，连接家里讲俄语的环境和外面讲英语的社会。”她说。
At the age of two, Alena Shish emigrated from Ukraine to the United States with her family. In that Russian-speaking household, she was the first to learn English, helping her parents translate from an early age. “I was like a bridge, connecting the Russian-speaking world at home with the English-speaking world outside,” she said.
这座桥，她一直没停过工。
This is a bridge she has never stopped building.
后来她学法语，高中时开始学中文，大学索性主修中国语言文学。2012年，她第一次来到中国，便爱上了这里的文化和美食。此后几年，她抓住一切机会想回到这里，职业也始终绕着跨文化交流这条轴转。
She later learned French, began studying Chinese in high school, and ended up majoring in Chinese Language and Literature in college. In 2012, she came to China for the first time and fell in love with the local culture and food. In the years that followed, she seized every opportunity to return to China, and her career remained centered on cross-cultural exchange.
直到2021年，她正式来到中国，在福田定居下来。
It was not until 2021 that she officially came to China and settled down in Futian.
把公司开在最想待的地方
Building Her Company in the Place She Loves Most
许丽娜与福田的缘分，比定居早得多。
Alena Shish’s connection with Futian began long before she settled here.
2014年，她因工作第一次来到福田，这里的商业环境、办公楼宇和各方面便利度都让她印象深刻。
In 2014, she first came to Futian for work and was deeply impressed by its business environment, office buildings, and overall convenience.
但最令她着迷的，是福田兼具现代化与烟火气的稀缺城市生态。
But what fascinated her most was Futian’s unusual urban ecosystem—one that combines modernity with the bustle of everyday life.
“我很喜欢这里城中村的多样性，我有多元文化背景，所以这很吸引我。”每次来到福田，许丽娜都住在城中村。虽然在深圳许多地方都工作过，但福田始终是她最想待的地方。如今住在新洲村，有她喜欢的生活气息、各色美食，还有城市绿地。
“I really love the diversity of the urban villages here. I have a multicultural background, so this really appeals to me.” Every time she came to Futian, she stayed in an urban village. Though she has worked in many parts of Shenzhen, Futian has always been where she most wants to be. Now living in Xinzhou Village, she enjoys the lively atmosphere she loves, a variety of food, and urban green spaces.
2024年8月，深圳市橙桥咨询有限公司在福田注册成立，主业是社交媒体营销、文化交流活动，以及入境旅游咨询。
In August 2024, Shenzhen OrangeBridge Consulting Co., Ltd. was registered in Futian, focusing on social media marketing, cultural exchange events, and inbound tourism consulting.
让她下定决心把公司放在福田的，除了生活，还有做生意的实在考量：福田位于深圳中心，去任何地方见客户都方便；毗邻香港，这对一个做跨境生意的人来说是加分项。更让她意外的是效率，2024年注册公司时，她大概一两天就拿到了营业执照。“这是我没想到的。”
What made her decide to base her company in Futian wasn’t just lifestyle, but also practical business considerations: Futian sits at the center of Shenzhen, making it easy to get to clients anywhere in the city; its proximity to Hong Kong is a bonus for someone doing cross-border business. What surprised her even more was the efficiency—when she registered the company in 2024, she got her business license in just a day or two. “I didn’t expect that.”
这些细节，最终汇成一句话：“把公司设在福田，是很自然的选择。”
These details ultimately come down to one sentence: “Setting up the company in Futian was a very natural choice.”
目前，许丽娜一边接项目，一边探索公司发展方向。
Currently, Alena Shish is taking on projects while exploring her company’s path forward.
一个方向已经跑出信号。她与深圳一所研究生院长期合作，协助国际招生推广，现已获得数百万级的曝光量。另一条线更小，却很有温度：她每周在福田办一场语言交换活动，每月办一场以地方美食为主题的聚会，用活动连接不同文化背景的人。
One development direction has already showed signs of traction. She has a long-term partnership with a graduate school in Shenzhen to help with its international admissions promotion. The effort has already gained millions of impressions. Another track is smaller but full of warmth: she hosts a weekly language exchange event in Futian and a monthly gathering themed around local cuisine, bringing together people from different cultural backgrounds through these events.
福田不只是国际化，更是多元化
Futian Is Not Just International—It’s Multicultural
如果用一个词形容福田，在许丽娜看来，不只是国际化，更是多元化。
To Alena Shish, if she had to describe Futian in one word, it would not be just “international”—it would be “multicultural”.
来了就是深圳人，她觉得福田也是如此。
“Once here, Shenzhener forever”—she feels the same is true of Futian.
“在这里能遇到来自世界各地的人。”对她而言，不同背景的人互相碰撞想法、交换信息和经验，是创业最需要的养分。
“You can meet people from all over the world here.” For her, nothing fuels entrepreneurship more than people from different backgrounds sharing ideas, information, and experience.
创业的路上，许丽娜也不算单打独斗。
On her entrepreneurial journey, Alena Shish is not going it alone.
福田区外商服务站和香蜜湖国际友好服务中心是她常去的地方。那里既有能拓展人脉的社交和文化活动，让她慢慢形成一个国际创业者的社群，还提供法律咨询、税务等专业资源。“作为创业者，有时真不知道从哪里入手，有这样的资源太重要了。”
The Futian Service Station for Foreign Entreprises and the Xiangmihu International Friendship Service Center are the places she often visits. They offer social and cultural events that help her gradually build a community of international entrepreneurs, as well as professional resources like legal consultation and tax services. “As an entrepreneur, sometimes you really don’t know where to start. Having access to these resources is so important.”
“我很自豪地说，我是福田的一名创业者。”许丽娜笑道，福田有很多年轻人，很有活力，美食文化浓厚。这里的人都有很多有趣的想法，并且愿意去创造新的机会。
“I’m proud to say I’m an entrepreneur in Futian,” She says with a smile. Futian is full of young, energetic people and has a rich food culture. People here have interesting ideas and are willing to create new opportunities.
从两岁开始帮父母翻译，到如今在福田经营一家叫橙桥的公司，许丽娜做的事其实一直没有变。
From helping her parents translate at age two to running a company called OrangeBridge in Futian today, Alena Shish has essentially been doing the same thing all along.
而福田给她的，是一个值得架桥的河岸。
And what Futian gives her is a riverbank worth building a bridge from.
